I Might Be a Bit Sentimental

There is a birds nest on our front porch. It’s completely uninhabited but I can’t bring myself to disposing of it because it was once someone’s home.

Our puppy Dobby has almost completely destroyed the first toy we ever got him, but I can’t throw it away because it was his first.

This leads me to believe I might be a bit sentimental. And also maybe a hoarder?

  1. Hi, I just started following your blog. I love it already! I just wanted to say: Yes, you are a hoarder. But it’s okay. I can tell: I’m also one. Welcome to the club! ๐Ÿ˜‰

  2. Don’t worry about disposing the bird nest, a new family will make use of it soon. We have 2 bird nests at our front porch. So far this year they have been used 3 times by different birdies. Right now one is vacant and one is occupied. We pretty much run a free bird motel! LMAO.
Now Dobby’s first toy…um…throw it if it’s destroyed. ๐Ÿ™‚ get him a new one of the same kind, that might help with keeping your memories and making new ones. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  3. As long as you don’t apply this thinking to situations like ‘the first tissue Captain Thoughtful blew his nose in when we started dating,’ I think you’re safe.

  4. If you want to confirm, just invite someone over that you don’t know very well. If they ask you if you’re gonna move out or just moved in, you know you’ve been hoarding girl! Source: happened to me once… ๐Ÿ˜‰

  5. I found a bird’s nest that had fallen from a tree on the day I moved in to my first apartment on my own. I kept it and still keep in a big jar on my window sill. Because I too, am sentimental.

  6. Yes, you might be but that’s OK. I noticed a nest in a tree that I’d intended to get rid of recently. It looked empty but I thought, “Now the tree will have to stay. I can’t destroy someone’s home.” I think it’s been recycled though because it is not there now. Must have been a mobile home.
