Here Is A Thought On A Monday

So, I wasn’t going to blog this week because I’m totally spending all my time studying for the GRE (aka watching old episodes of Buffy The Vampire Slayer) but then a part of me thought “You lazy ass, you should at least do a thought on a Friday.” And then the nicer part of me said “Hey you. You’re great. You should do a thought EVERY DAY this week!” So, that’s what I’m doing because the part of me that called me a “lazy ass” hurt my feelings and I want to prove to it that I’m not lazy.

What I’m trying to say is my thought today is that we should all be nicer to ourselves.

  1. Hilarious post as always, GC!

Seriously, though, we are all our own worst critics and need to start taking our thoughts captive and extending the same grace to ourselves that we extend to others!

  2. My studying for the GRE entailed primarily reading the GRE For Dummies book, which, I have to say, was surprisingly helpful. And if I made it with that, you can too! 🙂

  3. That is a great thought and I totally agree. But let me be a thought-provoker for a moment:
if the part of you that is not-so-nice was really nice then would we have benefitted from you wanting to prove the not-so-nice part wrong by giving us a thought every day this week? I think not.
Or maybe we would have because you are made of awesome. Who really knows?

  4. That’s a wonderful sentiment and one I’m trying adopt. I like that Buffy is your go-to distraction as I just recently employed it myself as a way to avoid starting my novel. Good luck on your GRE and I look clear to more o your thoughts.
