Life Isn’t All Harry Potter and Chili Cheese Burritos

Y’all? Why can’t life be all Harry Potter and Chili Cheese Burritos? That would be so sweet.

I’m bogged down y’all. Bogged down in some major suck. And I want to be funny for you, but I can’t seem to locate my sense of humor. I assume it’s lost somewhere between “I hate my job.” and “Waiting for some potentially big news.”

Does someone have a map my sense of humor can borrow to find it’s way out of there?

  1. It happens to the best of us doll! Embrace this down time, so you can use your energy when your sense of humor decides to come back home 🙂 everyone (or thing?) needs a little vaycay!

  2. ” ‘Puddleglum,’ they’ve said, `you’re altogether too full of bobance and bounce and high spirits. You’ve got to learn that life isn’t all fricasseed frogs and eel pie. You want something to sober you down a bit.” -The Silver Chair.

  3. There are some days you just have to settle for Twilight and BBQ chips. However, there are days when you should protest settling and go for Hunger Games and queso. So take a day off and do something small, different, and distracting. Humor will return.

  4. Me, too. But I’m not really a misery-loves-company sort of gal. I would suggest doing something that is completely unrelated to the hated job or the big news. Go window shopping, or be a weirdo sitting at a dog park that has not dogs, or wash your car or doodle.
You probably just need to get out of your own head for a while.

  5. Can’t be sunshine & rainbows alllllll the time – maybe try writing an angry entry. I think I’d still enjoy an angry entry written by you. I bet you’d find your dark humor in there somewhere.
    This too shall pass…
    🙂
