The Most Important Part Of A Diet Is Your Workout Playlist.

I think we can all agree that the most important part of any diet/exercise regime is the workout playlist. I mean, the wrong song can literally RUIN YOUR DIET. So, as I re-focus on my health by eating better and working out more, my primary concern is my workout playlist. Currently, it looks like this:

Now, I’m pretty happy with this playlist….for now, but I’m pretty sure after a couple weeks, it’s going to get old. So, I’m turning to you, my darling contrarians, for suggestions. What’s your favorite workout songs?

  1. My playlist is almost always why I actually get out for a run — I totally bribe myself with embarrassing pop music that I can’t listen to in any forum other than headphones where no one is close enough to me to hear them.

    Right now, I’m working a rotation of Avicii, David Guetta, Icona Pop, and Heads Will Roll by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

  3. I could not agree more! Working out is impossible without some great music. I’m a runner, so listening to music sets my pace:

  4. Welllll….all the playlists on my iPod are named after Python things (Mrs. Ratbag, I Don’t Like Span, Dead Parrot….etc) Fresh Fruit is the workout playlist and decorum forbids me from listing the 155 songs loaded there, but here are a few…

  5. I might be weird but I love upbeat Motown/disco for working out- a nice bit of Earth, Wind and Fire or James Brown. Also, Bombs over Baghdad by Outkast will have you sprinting like a machine.

  8. Actually, my favorite work out music is Metallica. The heavy beats and guitar shredding pump me up and keep me moving fast. Although, I break it up and sometimes play Rush and the last workout I actually listened to Journey. I don’t create a playlist, just play albums.

  9. I didn’t know most of those songs… I mean, of course I know Tone Loc, Kris Kross, and Boyz II Men… but the others are mysterious. Also, I don’t work out with music. Most of the time I am by myself, but when I am on the treadmill at the gym and I make eye contact with someone I can tell they find it unsettling that they see no evidence of music…

    And lord knows who sings it, but that Inner Ninja song! It’s lasted for ages on my workout playlist – I NEED it to survive the high intensity zone!

    Although “I Wanna Be Sedated” always gets me pumped when I clean the house (you know, once every two years).
