This Post Doesn’t Have A Title- Feel Free To Write Your Own In The Comments!

Last week, Captain Thoughtful was out of town and I missed him very much. And also, I realized how differently I hear things when he’s home with me. When he’s home, a loud noise in the night causes me to curse the neighbors children who apparently wear bowling balls for shoes. When he’s not home, a loud noise in the night causes me to grab a baseball bat and have 911 pre-dialed on my phone.

I think that’s called perspective, but I prefer to think of it as CaptainThoughtfulcannevergooutoftownwithoutmeagain.

  1. I once was in the same situation. Things get easier and some nights can be a little scary, but in the end I knew being without that “special someone” for a couple days was very healthy for the relationship. Plus, I got a puppy to keep me company! πŸ™‚ Hope you find peace

Ha ha, I’m the same when I’m at home alone even though I live with a roomie who’s one head shorter than me and she’s also not very athletic. So if there was a burglar or rapist or other form of criminal in our flat, I’d have to deal with him even if she was there.

  3. ” Let me tell you something. When it’s dark and I’m all alone, and I’m scared or freaked out or whatever, I always think β€œWhat would Buffy do?” You’re my hero. OK, sometimes when it’s dark and I’m all alone, I think β€œWhat is Buffy wearing?” -Xander Harris, BTVS.
