Here Is A Thought On A Friday

Hey. Basketball commentators, as March Madness is fast approaching, I have some advice for you. Don’t say “penetrate” and “bang” in the same sentence unless you want to completely distract your audience from the basketball. If you DO want to distract your audience from actually watching the basketball then you should totally do that because it’s hilarious every time you do. Which is a lot. I’m not sure you get the joke but there is definitely a joke there.

  1. You’ll not only hear “bang” and “pentetrate” in the same sentence, you’ll hear it over and over and over, as though basketball broadcasters had but a dozen or so different words from which to choose.

  2. there are so many sporting/sexual connotations: He stuck it out, he forced it in, and he gave it a good one. I wonder when they can just look at the losing team and say: “You know…they are f**ked!”

  3. My Dear, if that disturbs you then please keep away from Canadian curling broadcasts…the talk turns into a frenzy when a lot of the rocks are in the house, there are two guards, and a little at the far end is yelling “hurry, hurry”…sometimes her third is yelling “no, no” at the same time…and I’m not making this up!

      1. Lawrence Grodecki says:

well here’s an interview with some of last year’s top players…hope you can follow this without knowing the rules!

  4. “It’s just that in High School, knowledge was pretty much frowned upon, you really had to work to learn anything. But here… the energy, the collective intelligence, it’s like this force. This penetrating force.. and I can just feel my mind opening up, you know, and letting this place just thrust into and spurt knowledge into… That sentence ended up in a different place than it started out in.” -Willow, BTVS.
