  1. This is one of those times when having siblings or good friends with great handwriting comes in handy. Here is the trick:

Buy good wine, cheese and chocolate.
Parse the list of Thank You notes that need to be written into manageable size based on the number of people you can rope into this endeavor.

If each list is 10 in length it is easy, when they are done they can eat and drink while others finish.

If each list is larger than 10, you must limit intake based on 1/4 of list size. For each 25% of the list finished they may have one glass of wine and a plate of goodies. When the list is complete, they may imbibe to their hearts content. If they are really kindhearted of course they will help others finish so all of you can then finish off the goodies.

  2. I learned how to write a perfect thank you note in high school and all these years later I still haven’t forgotten:

    1. Thank them for the gift
    2. Say how you will use it or what it will be saved for.
    3. Say something personal
    4. Thank them again
    5. Close

I can bust out thank you notes in no time using this formula!

  3. this makes me happy that i had a very small and intimate wedding with only a few females that would actually appreciate thank you cards πŸ˜‰ good luck on your mission and congratulations

  4. I don’t think that would sell tbh, it’s a rare thing to see a real thank you note come in the mail these days. Sad but true. Most under the age of 35 don’t understand the concept of the thank you note nor the obligation to send one. I’m lucky to get even a verbal thank you from any of my nephews/nieces. One of my sisters-in-law is teaching her son to do it, good for her! Kids now think we owe them so why thank us for it. Ok done with my mini rant. lol

Don’t get me started on the lack of holiday cards that came this year. Each year we get fewer and fewer.

  5. Steven S. Walsky says:

Based on watching the authoritive Big Bang Theory, scientists do not write them; however, there are now apps that send thank you notes, for example, “The new Cards app from Apple lets you create and mail beautifully crafted cards personalized with your own text and photos.”

  6. I think such a thing does exist … somewhere. I remember seeing in an old newspaper once, a check-writing machine from a long time ago. It used EZ-Tracer or Spirograph-technology (for lack of a better term). In other words, a stylus was inserted into a metal plate in which the signature had been cut out. As the stylus moved along the signature, another arm, which held a fountain pen, would write the signature in the person’s handwriting. I’m sure this could be updated for longer letters. They would just be hard to personalize.
