I May Be Overdoing It On The Musicals.

I love musicals. I really really love musicals. But the thought struck me that I may be overdoing it on the musicals when I realized that I structure my days around songs from musicals.

In the morning, while I’m getting ready for work, I sing this-

When I get to work, I’m always humming this-

At lunchtime, I sing this song, usually in my head but occasionally out loud on accident.

If I need a bit of a pick-me-up in the afternoon, I sing this-

For no other reason than I love it, I pretty much always sing this song on my way home from work.

And obviously, before bed, I sing-

So, I’m thinking it’s maybe odd to mark your day by singing songs from musicals. Or maybe not. Maybe it’s a thing lots of people do. But, probably not.

  1. Oh my gosh, yes!! I do this, too, but with different songs. I think I’ll be a post nabber and steal this concept by sharing my own musical days. πŸ™‚ Love it! Also, Seize the Day is now in my head. πŸ˜€

  2. Ah, my Contrary sister from another Mister–I see why we are simpatico. Musicals make the soundtrack to my life. In particular, I’ll be singing 96,000 from In The Heights every night as I air the lottery numbers. Until, of course, I win….then I’ll either break into Cabaret’s Money Makes The World Go ‘Round or Gypsy’s Everything’s Coming Up Roses. Although I may have to take a country tangent and launch into Take This Job And Shove It first…..

  3. oh yes!! Yes, yes, yes. You and I think alike. You forgot when Julie Andrews spins on the mountain- that’s what I do when I am happy. Or, when I’m in the shower, I do South Pacific- I’m gonna wash that man….
    you get the idea!

  4. i havent seen musicals… but i love music and people who suffer from singing syndrome … πŸ™‚
i wish i was a singer…well i guess nobody has to know i cant sing…afterall my potential audience live in the tiny holes in my bathroom..

  5. I think that if we had a day where we had to sing our lives more people than not would actually enjoy being in a musical. πŸ™‚ I would. Now, the dancing, that’s another story. LOLZ

  6. “I’ve got a theory, that it’s a demon, a dancing demon…
    No, something isn’t right there.
I’ve got a theory, some kid is dreamin’,
And you’re all stuck inside his wacky Broadway nightmare.
I’ve got a theory, we should work this out.
It’s getting eerie; what’s this cheery singing all about?”
