About GirlontheContrary

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.

Nothing would be what it is because everything would be what it isn’t.

And contrary-wise; what it is it wouldn’t be, and what it wouldn’t be, it would.

You see?

  1. I’m going through your older posts to brighten my day and your humour sounds just like mine half the time. You’re like an American version of me :o I can’t stop laughing! Finally someone who has a similar funny bone to me. :’) You make me laugh uncontrollably. :D

  2. Hello! I’ve been visiting your blog since your Flirtation Failure post. That was so relatable and funny and it was one of the stuff I lived by. It’s been a while since I’ve visited and now that I have, I am so happy to read posts from a happily married and consistently funny woman! There is hope for the rest of us, I suppose? Haha. I wish you more happiness! :D

Your writing inspires me!! (probably heard that one too) I can’t say one thing which I’m sure that you’ve not heard before but in all honesty, You’re AWESOME! Much love!

  9. When I was at primary school we used to play this game where we spoke backwards language. You had to say the opposite of what you meant. It was the best fun. Thank you for reminding me of childhood. I think I’ll play that game again soon.

  10. Hi GotC, I wanted to let you know I’ve passed on the Liebster Award to you. Check out my blog for the rules if you want to pass the award on. Every post makes me laugh and brightens my day. Much needed now that Ohio is covered in snow lol!

  11. I’ve nominated your blog for the Kreativ Blogger Award. While it doesn’t involve a trophy or a giant novelty cheque (I know, it sucks), you do get a funky little image to display on your blog to let readers know how awesome you are. There are a few conditions associated with receiving the award, so have a look here to make sense of it all.

  12. GotC, wasn’t sure where to put this, so hope this is okay.

I have picked you to receive The Versatile Blogger award. I received it recently and was thrilled to be able to pass it on to five worthy recipients, of which you are one. I believe you are eminently qualified to receive this award. Your writing is fun, cheerful, light-hearted and well written. You make me laugh out loud and it is healing laughter. Your irreverent approach to some issues are refreshing, and I enjoy your frank opinions on some of the goings-on of our day.

If you would like more information and the rules surrounding this award, please go to my site here.

  13. So very very FUNNY!! I ‘pressed’ this to my blog, hopefully properly citing you all due credit/copyrights etc! Please do check, if I did anything incorrectly, I will delete the link posthaste- I am incredibly cognizant of plagiarism, (cannot abide it at all!) copyright issues, etc. Finally, I wanted to simply msg you this, as it’s not really a standard ‘comment’ per se, however, I loved this blog post so much I wanted to share!!!

  16. Ah, my escritorial sister from another mister….reading you keep me from dwelling in my head and lets the Princess come out and play more often…keep writing. (Don’t worry–it’s inspirational energies only…I yam not a krook….)

  17. I feel like we have been separated at birth. Love your blog. I too am socially awkward around cute men and love Alice. I think we should start a club, it would be da bomb. ;)

So, I’ve nominated you for a blog lovin award. It’s all just silliness, but then, we all can use a bit more insanity in our lives, right?

  26. Hey, nice blog!!!
Alice is Wonderland is AWESOME, I’m glad someone else actually likes it beyond the movie.
    Stay (sic) xD
P.S. – your ranting is epic
P.P.S – your mother. (I’m sorry, I had to put that in.)

  27. haha, that’s great, truly ingenious, and I do believe that I agree with that 110%! Because I already follow that theory of nonsense for my own life… the only exception being is that I do have a world of my own, there’s no “if” about it… *cough*… what can I say?, I’m a daydreamer, and my imagination is more vivid than most people can claim about theirs. :D

  28. I stumbled across your blog on the freshly pressed page. Great blog, great writing and absolutely amazing content. Each post so different from the last. Refreshing read.

Thank you fo the wonderful insights. :)

  29. Ah, I get it. Your world will only exist as long as your world does not exist. Because if your world exists it would no longer be different from that which exists, and will thus cease to exists.
